The given pie chart depicts the locations of dance classes being attended by the youngsters of an Australian town, while the bar chart compares the type of dance styles learnt by two different age groups.
Overall, private studios are the most popular location for such classes, followed by the school-halls, that provide after-school class. In terms of style, ballet is the most preferred choice for children below 11, whereas those in the age group 11-16 have the greatest inclination towards modern dance.
According to the pie chart, nearly half (48%) of all the dance classes take place in the private studios as opposed to just 10% that are held in college-based studios. Community halls and school halls account for a decent proportion of nearly one-fifth and around a quarter of these classes, respectively.
The second chart reveals that ballet is significantly popular among children below 11 years, with more than 600 participants, compared to just half of this number in the older age group. Conversely, modern dance has more than 500 attendees from 11-16 age bracket, but only 300 children below 11. Tap dance, interestingly, has almost equal participation from both the age groups, with more than 400 students each.
