These days, businesses are flourishing across boundaries, and several corporations are expanding their operations in other nations. In such scenarios, it is often argued that multi-national companies have a moral responsibility towards the communities where they work. I vehemently support this thought because these corporations directly utilize the resources of these regions, and their commitment to local communities can, in turn, help them develop a skilled and loyal workforce.
The primary responsibility of every MNC should be toward the environment of the area where they operate. This is because establishment of manufacturing units often exerts a detrimental impact on the local air and water quality. For example, Coca Cola was accused of depleting underground water resources and polluting nearby water bodies in Kerala that affected local agriculture and people’s health. Hence, it is essential that such corporations make efforts to restrict the emissions and release of contaminants to mitigate the risk of environmental hazards.
Apart from environmental concerns, such corporations also have a duty to support and uplift the people of these communities. In order to run their operations smoothly, these companies depend heavily on the local human resources, employing a skilled and semi-skilled workforce that contributes directly towards their success. Therefore, MNCs should make efforts to enhance their quality of life by providing training programs, ensuring fair wage rates and safe working conditions, ultimately earning their long-term loyalty. Due to its progressive HR policies and employee welfare initiatives, Tata Motors has earned a strong reputation among the local workforce wherever it operates.
In conclusion, it is undeniable that businesses must align themselves with the environment and communities of the regions in which they operate to create a mutually beneficial relationship. Consequently, multinational organizations hold an ethical obligation to safeguard both the natural surroundings and the people of the areas they serve.

These days, young people prefer to spend their leisure time in shopping centres instead of doing organized activities, such as sports or music. Do you think it is negative or positive development?

Band 7 Sample Essay
Youngsters, nowadays, are generally more inclined towards spending their free time in shopping centres rather than engaging in sports or music. In my opinion, this is a sheer wastage of productive time and such a trend fosters materialistic lifestyles that may ultimately prove to be detrimental to the society.
The first reason to oppose this phenomenon is that the young minds are generally creative and when they channelize their energies towards constructive tasks, it enhances both their mental and physical well-being. For example, learning to play a guitar rather is far more productive than aimlessly wandering from one store to another. Engaging in a musical activity not only nurtures creativity, but also provides relaxation, that contributes to an individual’s overall development.
Apart from that, being involved in shopping activities most of the time exposes young minds to materialistic attitudes which can have an adverse effect on their outlook and future behaviour. Many youngsters generally get influenced by luxury brands that may not be within their budget. and this desire to own such things may cause unnecessary stress or even encourage poor financial decisions later in life. In contrast, playing a sport, such as football, helps youngsters develop teamwork and leadership skills, which in turn enhance their social abilities, including co-operation and social interaction.
To conclude, unnecessarily squandering one’s leisure time in shopping malls diverts young minds from more constructive pursuits that promote creativity and social development. Hence, spending free time in organized activities, such as sports or music would be far beneficial to the younger generation and society as a whole.
