1. Space and Astronomy
- Have you ever learnt about space?
Yes, I learnt about Space in my school. I remember I was in 9th Grade when we had a topic on Space Exploration in science. I used to get fascinated by the scientific achievements in this field.
- Are you interested in space or astronomy?
I would say I am interested in getting latest updates on space or astronomy. However, neither I would like to go outer space nor would like to take this as a subject. I’m only thrilled about the latest achievements in this area.
- Have you ever looked through a telescope?
No, I never got a chance to do that. I often fancy watching the stars at night, but have never got an opportunity to use a telescope.
- Do you think it’s important to learn about stars and planets?
Absolutely! Knowledge is a bliss, whether it’s about stars and planets or about whole universe. I think learning about stars and planets gives us a wider perspective about life and existence.
2. Sleep and Night Habits
- Do you often stay up late at night?
No, I am an early riser, so I tend to fall asleep on time. However, on weekends, I stay up late to watch a movie with my family.
- How do you usually feel the next morning if you sleep late?
I feel exhausted if I don’t sleep on time. I find it difficult to carry out my morning routine smoothly and it affects my entire schedule.
- Why do people often stay up late at night?
There is a trend these days to stay up late at night. Young as well as mature adults keep scrolling their gadgets and due to this addiction, they end up wasting their crucial hours of sleep.
- Do you prefer working or studying during the day or night?
I prefer studying early morning as I feel fresh at that time. Also, I find it easy to concentrate on my studies after waking up.
- Have your sleeping habits changed over time?
Yes, my sleeping habits have changed significantly as earlier I was lazy and used to get up late. But when I entered my college, I started sleeping on time and I think my routine is much healthier now.
- What do you do to help yourself sleep better?
I don’t do anything special, but I have a habit of going for a walk post dinner. I am not sure, but I think that has helped me have a sound sleep.
3. Libraries and Reading
- Do you often go to the library?
Yes, I often visit my college library to borrow books. I go there once or twice a week.
- How often do children in your country go to the library?
I don’t think children visit libraries that often. Although at schools they are often encouraged to visit libraries and get books issued, but unless it is mandatory I don’t think they follow this in routine.
- When was the last time you visited a library?
Last Friday, I went to my college library and got two books issued. I wanted some content for my assignment, so that’s why I went there.
4. Chocolate
- Do you like chocolate?
I love chocolates. I am especially very fond of dark chocolates with nuts. They are such a delight.
- Why is chocolate so popular around the world?
I think it’s because of their rich flavor and smooth texture. People of all ages enjoy eating chocolates as it is the most easily available sweet.
- Do people in your country often give chocolate as a gift?
Yes, people often gift chocolate hampers on festivals, such as Diwali and Rakhshabandhan. Chocolates are also given as return gifts on children’s birthdays.
5. Keys and Security
- Do you usually carry your keys with you?
Yes, I have to carry my keys whenever I leave the house. They are my house keys and car keys and I usually keep them in my bag while going out.
- Have you ever lost or forgotten your keys?
Oh! That was a nightmare. I remember once I lost my car key at a café’, where I had visited with my friends. I searched everywhere, but couldn’t find it. Ultimately I had to call my mother for an extra key that she had kept with herself. It took me 2 hours to finally resolve the situation.
- What do you usually do if you can’t find them?
I try to be careful with keys. Mostly I keep them safely in my bag. If somehow I lose or can’t find them, my mother always comes for my rescue. She keeps duplicate keys with herself to fix such a situation.
- Do you think it’s a good idea to use smart locks instead of regular keys?
Certainly, smart locks are very convenient to use and one can avoid the hassle of losing the keys. These keyless locks are getting very popular these days. Many people have already switched to the smart locks for their homes.
6. Jewellery
- What kind of Jewellery do you usually wear?
I love wearing antique jewellery. It’s so trendy and affordable too. Whether I am wearing ethnic or western clothes, this kind of jewellery compliments all my outfits.
- Why do you choose to wear jewellery?
All women love wearing jewellery. It’s like an accessory that completes ones dressing. Although I prefer sleek pieces, I feel without jewellery, I don’t feel very confident about my dress up.
- Do you think jewellery can be an important part of someone’s personal style?
Absolutely, clothes, jewellery and other accessories are a reflection of one’s personal style. Some people prefer minimalist pieces that reflect a clean and modern aesthetic, while others wear bold, statement jewellery to stand out and showcase creativity or confidence.
- How has your taste in jewellery changed over the years?
Earlier I used to wear only sleek gold bracelet and earrings. I was not very fond of experimenting with different kinds of jewellery, but now I love trying stylish pieces.
7. Fishing
- Do you enjoy fishing?
No, I don’t like fishing. I think it requires so much patience, that I don’t have. Also, there is no place for fishing in my hometown or nearby.
- How often do you go fishing?
I have never done this activity in my life. I am not at all fond of catching fish in the nets.
- Where do people usually go fishing in your country?
Towards south or near the coastal areas, people often go fishing. In states like Kerala and Goa, fishing is an important occupation, so many people are involved in this activity. Fish is often exported to other countries from these areas.
- Why do some people enjoy fishing as a hobby?
Honestly, I am not very sure about why people take fishing as a hobby. But maybe they feel close to nature and it might give them some relaxation because fishing is usually done away from the hustle and bustle.
8. Chores
- Did you do many chores as a child?
To be honest, I used to give lame excuses to avoid doing household chores. My mother used to reprimand me for not helping her with certain tasks at home. But when I grew up and entered high school, I started managing my wardrobe and cleaning my room.
- What chores do you typically do now?
Almost everything, from buying grocery to cooking meals, I do almost everything on my own. Sometimes when my house help is on leave, I also clean my house.
- Are there any chores you dislike doing?
I don’t like cleaning the garden because it’s very tedious. It needs a lot of energy and time to clear the dry leaves and trim grass. That is why we have hired a gardener who comes twice a week and manages everything.
- Do men or women do more chores in your country?
In India, mostly women do all the household chores, while men do the grocery and vegetable shopping. However, this situation has changed in urban areas, where both males and females are working. They help each other with managing the house. When females are out at work, their male counterparts take care of children and even cook for the family.
9. Creativity and Imagination
- Are you a creative person?
Yes, I am creative when it comes to cooking. I love to experiment with distinct flavours and ingredients. People often compliment me for my innovative recipes.
- What did you learn about creativity at school?
When I was at school, the only place where we were allowed to show our creativity was our arts class, where we used to express our imagination through colours and canvas. But now schools have changed. There are a variety of fields where students are given a platform to be creative, such as cooking, or writing. I have also seen schools where students share innovative ideas for business.
- Does anyone in your family have a good imagination?
My sister is very artistic and imaginative. She often shares brilliant ideas for decorating the house. Whenever there is a party at our place, she becomes an interior decorator and we all love what she does.
10. Flying and Air Travel
- Are there many airlines in your country?
Yes, India has many airline companies, such as Indigo, Spice Jet and Air India. There might be others too, but these ones are more popular.
- Have you ever flown anywhere?
I have flown several times from Indira Gandhi International Airport. I also travelled domestically via airlines from Chandigarh to Bangaluru last year.
- Where would you like to fly?
I would like to fly to Dubai through Emirates airlines. It’s one of the largest and most comfortable airlines. Moreover, I have seen the beauty of this country on social media, so I really wish to visit Dubai.
- Are you scared of flying?
Earlier I was not scared of flying in a plane, but recent incidents of air crash have really affected me drastically. I get goosebumps whenever I think of them. So I have started feeling anxious on the thought of flying.
